I love change.....change for the better of course, but usually change is always for the better....eventually. God has truly blessed me to work with beautiful, creative and loving people. Its never a coincidence how we meet, I believe its just meant to be. This past year has really shown me the importance of living your life day by day always working on achieving your dream....no matter how big or how small.

Here are some of the creative and talented l people I have had the opportunity to collaborate with this year:

Cen C Love ( I know her as Ngeri Livingston) is one of the most creative, dynamic, talented woman I know. I first met Cen C at Georgia State University's Caribbean Students Association. Back then I knew her as a clothing designer and choreographer. Now I know her as a soulful and amazing singer, musician, song writer, producer loving mother and an inspiring friend. Jahleeka Morris AKA Jelly . I also met Jelly at Georgia State University. I first did Jelly's make up at GSU's Infinte Appeal fashion show. She was always very friendly and passionate about everything she did. Now I have had the pleasure to work with Jelly on a couple photo shoots and viewing parties for her hit reality show Born to Dance with Laurieann Gibson. This girl is a force to be reckon with. She proved and is continuing to prove to the world that full figured women can move with the best of them. She has sooo much confidence, passion and hope in her smile and in her approach to life. According to Jelly " you have to realize your dreams, one day at a time". Big things are definitely coming her way!

Hey Guys!

SOoOoOoOoOoI know its been awhile but I'm back!

Things have changed in the past year all for the better! I've been busy with School (I graduated with my Masters in Health Administration), Work (Im a full time health educator), and make up (weddings, music videos, photo shoots and all occasions) and now I have a brand spankin new website!!!!!!!

Snow Day

Hello Lovlies,

Today has been declared a Snow day for me at work......I'm happy that I have a free day at home, but at the same time I have work i need to get done for a meeting on Sat, but I will survive. Since I have some free time at home I thought it would be a great time to post another blog, which I will be doing more often since I just bought myself a MACbook Pro......I'm still learning how to navigate this wonderful equipment, but with time I will become a pro or at least close to one.

Soooo.......lets talk make-up!

It's a new year and I have new plans......this year I plan on hosting make-up parties. I'm still trying to figure out the details but my make-up parties will provide make-up tips, lash application, food drinks, gifts and prizes. Of course this will not all be free, there will be a fee but it would be all worth it......at first I plan to start off small just to get a feel of it and also to get a following. If anyone has any ideas on how I can improve this party idea, please feel free to share!....I'm so looking forward to it.

Ok so remember in my last post when I said I was working on a bridal photo- shoot, well it's complete and my friend from chaseology.com created a wonderful behind the scenes quick video to give you an idea of what happens on a sochevon photo-shoot. Pics will be up soon!

Wedding make-up

Hello Everyone...

I know, I know its been a while since I updated, but I am here now and I will try my absolute best to keep this blog afloat with updates, tips and and of course pics.

Well........ I'm not sure if anyone else is experiencing this right now, but most of my friends/acquaintances from high school and college are either married, or engaged which makes me realize I need to create a specific wedding look for my blog......Don't worry it's in the works.

When it comes to wedding make-up , most of the brides that I have done wanted a clean, fresh, glowy, I wake up like this look...nothing to heavy, just enough to embrace and enhance the true you. On the other hand you have brides that want to go all out with deep liner, lipstick, eyeshadow, thick/long lashes.....and I think that's Great as well....its really what ever you want to make you feel your best on your special day.

When I do wedding make-up, I do a consultation usually a month prior to the wedding to experiment with different looks just to make sure we find the right look for the bride, the lady of the day, the queen if you will...plus its fun and it gives me a chance to get to the know the bride.

I am only pleased if the bride is pleased......and I'm always pleased.

As of now I have a bridal photoshoot scheduled for Dec. 13, 2009, once I have the pictures I will put it on display for you all to view. Hello All,

I know I know its been awhile and again I apologize for my lack of updates, but I have some great news.....I finally have my own website....You Guys should really check it out http://www.sochevon.com/! Please spread the word!

Anyway, back on the make-up tips....so I discovered some new ways to make your eyes pop without wearing to much make-up or looking like a clown. The trick is to of course have great shaped eye brows but you also need a great eyebrow high-lighter......Arena (eye-shadow) by http://www.maccosmetics.com/ is great to use for giving your eyes a dramatic soft superstar look. Just apply a little of the eyeshadow with a flat brush and follow the shape of the brow.

I got another great tip for you guys.......you know when you put on your make-up in the morning and it looks great but then a couple hours later it creases up? Well, I think I have the remedy for you....it's called Prep + Prime Eye by http://www.maccosmetics.com/ ..... this will help decrease the crease....(that's cute..lol). Just put it on with a flat brush before you put on your favorite eye shadow and you're good to go!

Blending Eye Shadow

Hello All,

Ok so I'm gonna get back to the subject of make-up for a second. When it comes to Eye Shadow I love blending light into dark, its dramatic yet sexy. You can use any color you'd like from yellows to blues, greens, pinks and purples, whatever you like.

My sisters prom was on May 2nd, she and some of her friends wanted me to do their make-up, of course I was more than happy to do it. For this occasion they wanted their eyes to pop and stand out from the rest, its prom, they were going all out, so I decided to do a little blending for them.

Amber was wearing a black and white dress, so of course she wanted it to start off while/sliver and blend into a gray/black. I started my using a cream base white eyeshadow, along with a little silver powder shadow in the inner corners of the eyes. I then used a little black eyeshadow on the end making a (>) shape on the corner of the eye. You have to use a blending brush to make sure the silver/white blends nicely into the gray ( you might have to re-apply as needed). To make the end of the eye blend nicely with her skin, up towards the eyebrows in the crease of the eye, the trick is to use a dark brown eye shadow to blend the the black with her skin to lessen the sharp harsh black. Finally, I used a little black eye-liner and added some lashes and that was it.

Oh I also used a little foundation (lighter than her complexion) directly underneath her eyebrow to give it that freshly waxed look. That's it!

I did pretty much the same thing with the other girls, just with different colors if you guys have any questions or comments just let me know!

I'm not sure why I didn't post this sooner, but I did make-up for a friend of mine who was performing as Beyonce in a school talent show. It was fun! I got to use a lot of make-up on him.....this was my first time doing Drag make-up but I think I did a pretty good job, I could use some pointers but overall it went over well.....Why don't you tell me what you think!

Natural Hair TIP

I know I said I would post a tip for those who are Natural or even in the process of going Natural......Now , I found this out late in the game.....Shea Butter.....Like Home made Shea Butter not the kind you get at the beauty supply but the kind you get from an African store.....you know when they have to chop off a piece from a huge block...thats the kind.

I was doing make-up for a model by the name of Kadeshia, she was telling me of how she creates her own hair and skin products, She said it was 100% natural and healthy for your hair....I took her word for it and tried it....OMG I loved it.....It smelled great, it felt great and I noticed a change in my hair.....She mixes avocado oil,Almond oil,vitamin B and natural fragrances with the Shea Butter.....It kept my hair moisturized, soft and defined my curls....You should really check her out!

Going Natural

Hello All,

I know this entry has nothing to do with make-up but it has to do with beauty......HEALTHY HAIR. I didn't always have healthy hair but I made the transition.....I'm still not where I want to be but, I'm getting there.

For those of you who don't know I have been going natural for about two years now,I decided to cut off the chemically treated part of my hair last year April. It wasn't easy trust me. I always told myself that I would never stop getting a perm, and I would never ever wear my hair natural I mean why would somebody want to walk around with nappy hair.....Well let me be the first to tell you Nappy hair is beautiful and I absoutely love it!

When I first started I had a cute little bob, I felt like there was nothing I could do going through my transition, I know I didn't want to shave my head and I know I didn't want micros so I decided to wear the curly afro look.

All I did was braid or twist my hair in little coils, go under the dryer then undo the twists.....It was easy, it looked good and unlike micros it didn't take out my hair. A Good curly weave would hurt either. I used Wet and Curly Indian Premium hair and sometimes Milky way coils (I think that was the hair type).

I also found a beautician that knew how to deal with natural hair......Juliese was the best and still is.....she told me exactly what I needed to do to get a head full of healthy natural hair:

-Its important to trim your hair. You cant grow health healthy hair with split ends.....I know it may seem like a lot to cut off especially in a time where you are trying to grow your hair but trust me it's necessary

-Keep it conditioned and moisturized. When you go natural water is your best friend...keep your hair conditioned daily and use a silk scarf when you go to bed (not using a scarf can allow your hair to break).

-Try to avoid heat as much as possible. Try not to use the flat iron everyday, you don't want your hair to break.

-Take vitamins for hair and nails, have a healthy diet and drink plenty of water (I'm still working on this tip)

I know a lot of people look online to see how they can get their hair to grow and get curly, I was one of those people, but what I found out was my hair is different from everybody else, my hair does not grow fast, its not thick and i don't have loose curls.

You have to make your hair work for you. Try different products and styles that fit your hair type and style.

Hello All!

I'm not sure if you all remember my entry about my bargain shopping friend Tavon and her super inexpensive wedding, but she is going to be on Good Morning America this Friday! I was there for most of the taping, modeling my bridesmaid dress and saying a few words about the wedding. It was fun and Tavon did a wonderful job. I wouldn't be surprised if someone called her to be the host of her own wedding show.

Job less, school less, and relationship less?...Times are hard but here are some tips on how to look and feel great on a budget!

There was a time where I was in the state of all of the above...

Jobless: I graduated with no job really, just a waitress gig
School less: I was trying to get into grad school it didn't work out the first time
or the second time
Relationship less: Just wasn't interested at the time plus I needed to focus on
getting my life together.

But I always found away to make sure my hair was on point(most of the time) and my face make-up was cute and flawless:

This was just an everyday summer natural glow look.
I was also in the process of growing out my perm.....I'm completely natural now and Love it.....but thats another blog.

Now, I know not everyone can afford to buy make-up for every occasion but there are a couple tips with just the essential make up items that most women have or at least should have.

Everything you need for a beautiful face doesn't have to come from M.A.C or some fancy beauty counter, it's right around the corner at your nearest drugstore (CVS or Walgreens).

Here are some of my favorite products:
All of this for the price of maybe two M.A.C prouducts....Don't get me wrong I love me some M.A.C but sometimes I just gotta be economical.

Don't let your situation get you down...Just be patient,work hard and stay positive and your outlook on life will change along with your situation....This is the season of change just embrace it and it's yours!

I love this picture!....It was my first time working with an Asian women before, I was a little nervous but I didn't let the nerves get to me. She was very pleasant to work with. We were unsure of what look were were going for,it all came to me piece by piece.....I'm still unsure as to what I should call it, all I know is I love it......If you have any suggestions Please Let me Know!!!!

Smokey Eye for the Holidays!

Smokey Eye:

What you need:
black cole pencil or black eye shadow (preferably from MAC)
Foundation ( cream based foundation)
champagne/gold, dark brown and/or bronze eye shadow
angle brush
eyeshadow blending brush
eyeshadow application brush
foundation and concealer brush
Mascara

1st Step:

(Assuming your face is already made up the foundation)
Add foundation to your eye lid with a concealer brush (this will help the eyeshadow you apply to stay on your eye longer without going into the creases, you can do this by using an eyeshadow paint from M.A.C as well.)
Apply the dark brown eyeshadow with the eyeshadow application brush to the outside crease of your eye, starting from the bottom, working your way up to top
Use the Blending brush to blend the brown down to your lid.

2nd Step:

Apply the Champagne color eyeshadow to your lid, staying below the brown eyeshadow in your crease, make sure you put a touch of champagene eyeshadow to the tear duct of your eye (the inner corner of your eye)
Make sure the champagne color blends into the brown eyeshadow (You can also add some gold on your eyelid to brighten it up)
What ever color you add just make sure the light is blending into the dark.
3rd Step:
Next use an angle brush to apply the black eyeshadow along the top (lash line) and bottom part of your eye.
Apply a little black eyeshadow to your blending brush and brush from the outside corner up to the crease blending the black with the brown and continue to up the crease of your eye.
Apply Mascara on both the top and bottom of your eyelashes
Now this is just for a smokey eye. Adding more or less black can make for a more or less dramatic look.

Extra Tips:

Definitley use a bronzer to help contour your face giving you skin a flawless look that's been kissed by the sun. (Frost by MAC)

When doing a smokey eye, it's preferred to just have a nude lip (a tinted lip glass by MAC)

And make sure your eyebrows are shaped and neat.......you can use the anlgle brush and the brown shadow to fill in your eyebrow ( work from the middle out and then apply to the front of the brow)....make sure you don't apply it to heavy. You dont want it to look drawn on.

Hey Lovelies, I know its been a little while, but I have a treat for you guys!

The 1st Black Family in the White House......My God!!!!!!!!!

I just had to blog about this Historical Event.
It's so amazing to me, a country that once judged people based on the color of their skin, is now judging people based on the content of their character- it looks like the Dream of Martin Luther King has come true. There are so many things running through my mind right now I don't even know what to type first.
I 'm just so proud of America as a whole, not just black people or young people but everyone. I keep thinking to myself over and over again "wow Dominique you are a part of history".....I know this is something I can tell my children and my children's children. It's so Awesome!

Now all I want to do is Talk about President Obama and his family, watch CNN and of course The View (just to see what Elizabeth Hasselback has to say now).

President O-b-a-m-a.....it sounds so natural....did you'll now this was destined to happen? read Judges ch.4 verse 4-6.....Out President's name is mentioned in the 6th verse!
I know I'm going all over the place, but I'm still so excited!

Lets talk about our 1st African American 1st lady ....Mrs. Michelle Obama......Lady of style, Lady of poise and Lady Grace.

Michelle Obama is a great depiction of a Strong Black Women, she's educated, stylish, and as Obama said, the rock of their family. As the presidential campaign began we have seen Mrs. Obama with various styles of clothing and of course Make-up.......look here:

This is Mrs. Obama before the presidential election really took off. She looks really laid back, a little conservative and highly sophisticated.......and not much make up at all. Just a little understated from the Michelle Obama today.
Here, our 1st Lady added some color, which is a step up from the last pic, but not what we are used to seeing today. It's very conservative....not really my favorite, but she's still stunning!
Now that OBAMA has accepted the Democratic Nomination for Presidency, Michelle has stepped up her game, adding some color and lots of print.....her girls look lovely here as well....too cute! That smile Michelle is wearing tops it off......she's fabulous!

As things start to get heated so did Mrs. Obama. Here she is walking off the stage of the 1st presidential debate with her husband (our president) . This is definitely a different Michelle from the first picture. It looks like Mrs. Obama loves her print, and thats cool because we love her in it. In this pic, her hair is longer and fuller and her make-up beautiful yet subtle. I know you can't really see her face in this pic, but she has a beautiful glow (which I'm sure she got by using a bronzer.....Frost from M.A.C is my favorite).
I know this is not the best picture, but I love the color of this ensemble. It's bright, sophisticated with a retro-modern twist. Her hair looks healthy and it looks like she's wearing more make-up. She definitely fills in her eyebrows more than in the first pic, she has a darker shade of eye shadow, creating a slight smokey eye (only above the eye-lid), followed by a little blush and a darker shade of lipstick/gloss and Lip liner (Plum)......it's beautiful Michelle.
The Night we will always remember Tuesday, Nov.4, 2008.....The Night Obama made histroy!.....Michelle looks absolutely stunning in her red accent dress. At first I was wondering why not blue, but then I realized red is Authority, Obama and his family was letting everyone know they are taking ownership of this great opportunity. As you can see Michelle has made a transition throughout the presidential campaign. Her wardrobe went from laid back and conservative to bright and liberal (please note I said her wardrobe not her views)........She's a gorgeous women and I am so happy for her and her family.

Please Remember to keep the 1st family in your prayers, Barack has plenty expectations from the American people and I beleive he will try his best to live up to his words, but lets pray for him, his family and his leadership.

It's been such a LOng LOng Time.........

Hello Everyone,

Wow, I know it's been such a long time since, I updated my blog......truth be told I've been working on a few projects like, grad school, work, make-up and more work. I'm definitely not complaining just explaining.

I've been working with some very creative people these past couple of weeks on an awesome project that will showcase some talented and creative work......I can't wait for the finish product.....until then you'll just have to wait and see!!!!.

A couple of things.....

1. I went to the Common/Nerd/Janelle Monae/Chester French concert at the tabernacle. My favorite was of course Ms. Janelle Monae.......she spazzed out, in a good way of course......I mean this girl was throwin the mice and the mic stand across the stage and then decided to throw herself into the crowd.....it was crazy and I loved it.....especially those quarky, robotic dance moves......she definitely knows how to perform.....She was fun!

But the Performance that shut the place down hands down had to be N.E.R.D.......I mean I felt like I was the only person who didn't know the words to any of their songs except of course "All the Girls Standin in the Line for the Bathroom" and even then I just knew the chorus.....even still they gave an exploding performance.......and that Pharrell, ladies need i say more, let's just say it was a pleasure.......I had fun!

Oh I cant' forget about Chester French, they were a great opening act, they definitely got the crowd hype, and surprisingly I recognized one of their songs " She loves everybody" I'm not a skilled music connoisseur, but i do recognize good music and I must say Chester French has some good music......it's different, but good......I enjoyed it!........all in all it was a good concert but a long concert (7:15-12:00) but thats to be expected.

2. Make-up has been coming along, in the past couple of weeks I have done some weddings and a couple photo shoots....God continues to bless me with opportunities to showcase my talent everyday.

Hello All,

I know I've been absent from the blog scene so I decided to come and grace the pages of so chevon. This blog is not about make-up.....Just me. Lately, I've had a lot of things on my mind, you know the usual, relationships, school, work and so on...... as my boyfriend would say "I'm worrying myself for no reason at all."

"Relationships"

People, they come and go for the different seasons in your life. Sometimes it's hard to let go but most of the time it's necessary. Sometimes I have a hard time letting go when I know its over. I sit and think to myself "what good are they doing for me?" Are they holding me back?"Where do I go from here?" I try not to doubt any of my relationships, but sometimes I can't help it. I think to myself "what if?" and I play it over and over in my mind until I come to the realization "that's not the way it is now, so no there is no what if .......and that is what I constantly worry about. I just want to make sure I'm making the right decision with who I decide keep in my life. Maybe I am worrying myself or maybe I'm confused I don't know.......but I'll get over it, I always do.

"School"

Well, Im starting school in the fall, in the pursuit of a Masters in Health Administration, I'm excited to be working towards a goal, yet nervous about the courses, the material and how well I will handle work. I have to do my best in all my classes or else I can be dropped from the program and that means I can't get anything lower than a B in any class and these classes are no joke....I mean I'm taking health accounting, economics, and health stat...all to which is a foreign language to me. But with God's grace, prayer and effort I know I can do it....( I have to tell myself this constantly) it's gonna take plenty of discipline....but I'm in it to win it.

"Work"

Call me if you need a Make-up Artist!.....Naw, really I have a job working with the Student Health Promotion Office as a Program Coordinator, I enjoy what I do and ultimately I want to continue working with the department just at a higher level, but right now it's.....well....lets just say there is probably something better out there.....plenty better.....but I am thankful for what I have, my boss has done everything in his power to make sure I am taking care of, but he still tells me "do what's best for you"......and I am, so with that said need a Make-Up Artist? Call me!

Clash of the Arts!....Went well!

Hello All!

The fashion show went well, like most fashion shows it was hectic, people yelling, hot and stuffy, and of course it wouldn't be a fashion show without a little confusion.... I didn't stay for the entire show but from what I witnessed I think it went pretty well (just as a viewer), I'm sure somethings didn't go according to plan, but the audience couldn't ell the difference.

I had a good time, there were 30 models and entertainers, two make-up artist and 2 1/2 hours.... I did some14 faces in about 3hrs ( It took me a little longer than the time allotted), not everyone got their make-up done.....the other make-up artist probably did 12 or so faces, the other 4 models either didn't want their make-up done or didn't come on time to get their make-up done.

From the reactions of the models and entertainers, I would say they really did enjoy their look. I made sure they were comfortable wearing a certain eyeshadow or liner....some of them came with their own foundation, which was a plus....it helped save plenty of time, and most of them were open to trying anything....which works for me because I love to get creative.

I can say I made some connections from this event, so I'm expecting some phone calls in the near future.

Hello beautiful ladies and Handsome Gents!

As of this Saturday (July 12) I will be painting the lovely faces of models in the upcoming Clash of the Arts Fashion show in Decatur GA.

Clash of the Arts is a combinations of music, black art and of course fashion. This is where the hot new Black Artists in Atlanta will be showcasing their masterpieces.......This is going to be a Hot event with major networking opportunities.

I'm excited and also a bit nervous, I mean I 've done fashion shows, step shows, weddings, photoshoots and so on but I always want to do my best so I always put a lot of pressure on myself......plus from what I understand I have to do make-up for 20 models in two hours and I still have to work earlier on that day......I have to try my best to get to the venue for 5:45 so I can get started exactly at 6:00......I can't wait, I love what i do!!

I never new in a million years that I Dominique Chevon Doyle could ever be a model......but I was just for a moment!........I wanted to try this new look and I needed a model for it...I thought I had one, but something came up and I ended up being my model.....It was fun, but it's not easy. I don't have too many looks, I tried the whole Tyra smile with your eyes thing and stick out your neck pose but I just just don't have the model swag I have the Make-Up Artist (MUA) swag.

"Ethereal Fairy" is a combination of a mystical, festive and peculuiar beauty. It's unusal yet pretty, but not something you would wear on the regular.
I wanted to do something a little more dramatic than what I'm used to. It's a bit dramatic but trust me it's gonna get even better.

I know it's vacation time for a lot of us.......for that reason, we need to look our best and feel our best.

I Love going to the Beach
I Love looking cute in my Bathing Suit and
I Love taking Pictures

However, I really don't care to swim( don't get it twisted I can swim), just wet my feet and go about my business.

When I go to the beach I just like to look cute. You can do this without putting much effort towards it.

Here's what to do: (This is a beautiful pic of Ms. Nia Long at the BET music Awards, she was glowing!)

1. put some sunscreen on, sunscreen with a little bronzer will add a unique sparkle to your face as well as protection
2. put on a little water proof mascara
3. put on a cute neutral ( pinkish, bronzish or gold tones) lip gloss
4. a little blush (or bronzer) nothing to drastic (optional)
5. put some studs in your ears (wearing earrings, even little studs could make such a difference)

Theses are just a couple tips if you plan on hitting up the beach or your favorite Vacation spot this summer. Create a glow, your glow, a healthy glow.

Getting the Right Arch

Hello All,

There has been something on my mind lately, something I totally dismisses in my previous blogs, something that must be addressed..........EYE BROWS..........they will make or break you.

If you want to give yourself an instant make over, arch your eyebrows, but don't over arch them....that's a big NO NO!

You want to make sure you find the right Arch to suit your face.

Check out these tips:

To see where the brow should begin, use a pencil place it at the edge of your nose and connect this point to the inside corner of your eye. The line it makes is where the brow should begin

Hold the pencil to the same edge of the nose and connect it with the outer corner of the eye. If you continue that line, you will see where the brow will end.

Looking For a job?

The economy is not looking too good these days and it seems like everybody and they mama is looking for a job..... I mean everybody. It's getting so bad people are taking jobs where they know their are being under paid, but happy they got one. In this market you are going to compete with the best. You wanna make sure you look as good as your resume, because at the end of the day you're gonna have to sell that resume.

Don't forget, your look will differ for different jobs. An office administrator/clerk will probably go for the 1st look and a marketing/promotion job will probably go for the 2nd look. Just think of the job environment, and your personality. If you think you can pull off color.... do it, but be wise....if not keep it neutral. What ever you do, be yourself (with caution...lol), and be comfortable!

Ladies there's a lot to compete with in Atlanta....there are 20 women for every 1 man in the ATL...that's a bit much.....so you know you gotta be on top of your game to catch a good one.....
so here are a couple tips!

An intelligent, well-rounded gentlemen likes a girl that doesn't over do it. Its need to look effortless and classic.

Christina does a great job with her look.

Everyone has there own style, don't be afraid to experiment. Check out the M.A.C counter, or for a less expensive choice check out ULTA. It's summer time so add a little color ...purple, green, teal or blue softened by adding a little gold would look beautiful as an eyeshadow accompanied with black mascara, a little black eyeliner, a soft blush or bronzer and a nude lip gloss with maybe a touch of pink (or maybe gold, depending on your skin tone) would catch the eye of a certain someone.

Most importantly, you want to remember you're doing this for you, you want to look as beautiful as you feel, getting some attention doesn't hurt but make sure you wear the make-up, don't let the make-up wear you.

1st look: She took us back to the sixties where dark eyes, big lashes and big hair was in....but if you look closely to give it a little modern touch she applied some white liner on the inside of the eye......this gives you a more dramatic look....it really brings out the eyes...I love it!

2nd look: This is my favorite....yes it's a bit much with the feathers but it is stunning.....unless you are doing a fashion show or a photo shoot I wouldn't recommend this for an everyday look. But then again, you could do everything but the feathers and you'll look great.

3rd look: Simple, Simple, Simple,.......just make sure your eyebrows are nicely arch, darken it in a little, flaunt some red lipstick and put on your favorite shades.....Do you!

4th look: Futuristic...I Like......Solange looks so soft and graceful....They were on point with this concept.

Not that Ashanti ever looked foolish,but she's definitely making a Declaration now.

Ashanti is looking absolutely gorgeous in this pic. With a pale peach lip....black liner....eyelash extensions and beautiful off white to brown eyeshadow, you can't go wrong. It's simple yet a little dramatic, innocent with a sexy edge and contemporary yet timeless.

Since her album "The Declaration" dropped yesterday Ashanti has been on the move promoting her album and looking good while doing it. Many young ladies look at this and think it's hard to pull off but it really isn't....it just takes a little time and most importantly practice.

Invite some friends, pull out some pics of your favorite celebrities and try your best to imitate the look your friends will be honest with you (I hope) and if all else fails at least you had fun and hopefully you learned something new about your style of make-up. Try it, it won't hurt!

Right on OBAMA! I feel like picketting the steps of a political edifice yelling "Tell yo Mama to Vote OBAMA!" I am part of history...Black History and it's Amazing!

I was never really into politics, still not too familiar with the jargon, but I can definitely recognize a good thing and OBAMA is that good thing. This election period has had the most influence on Americans to date....I mean just two years ago not too many people were familiar with the name OBAMA now his name is in rap songs, his face on the front of t-shirts and his family on national television. It's amazing and I love it!...This is the beginning of something great!

"The Journey will be difficult, the road will be long....I face this challenge with profound humility and knowledge of my own limitations"- OBAMA.....but don't forget some concealer for those soon to come wrinkles from being in the political arena.

Yes men do wear concealer especially actors and models, it's ok if you see a blemish or bags under your eyes and you want to conceal them....that's what concealer does conceal!.....but don't forget to take care of your skin as well.....below are some links on men skin care and men concealers.

My full name is Dominique Chevon Doyle, I go by Chevon just because I don't hear it enough, it's such a pretty name I don't want it to go to waste.

Sex & the City: Fashion

So I went to see SATC with my boyfriend (he's such a good sport).I was amazed by the fashion alone. Nothing matched in a traditonal sense but it looked stunning which makes me want expand my horizons a bit. I know many women (and some gents) will try to imitate SATC look. Some will succeed while others will fail miserably... Clothes aside, you can't pull off a SATC look without the right make-up. A little black eye liner, voluminous mascara, a little concealer, blush, and of course a neutral lip color...
